The Montauk Club
ARTFUL DODGERS POETRY is proud to host a monthly poetry series at the historic Montauk Club. Each month we present 2 featured poets along with a generous open mike. For those who have never experienced poetry at the Montauk Club, it’s a unique venue on what was formerly known as Sportsmen's Row in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY, fashioned in 1891 after a Venetian palazzo by one of the foremost architects of the time, Francis Kimball. It still retains much of its Old World charm: original friezes, stained glass windows, beneficent chandelier, and grand piano. Whether you read or prefer to just listen, it’s a lovely way to spend a few hours, generally on the last Sunday of the month from 1-3 (although future scheduling may vary: check our Facebook page or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for scheduling updates). Located just around the corner from the Grand Army Plaza 2/3 subway stop, the Montauk Club is easily accessible by public transportation [2, 3, Q, F] or car. And it’s free, with a brief tour usually included at the conclusion of the reading. To reserve your spot for the open mike, please contact Harvey Soss at email@example.com or at firstname.lastname@example.org; additional spots will be available on the performance date on a first come first served basis as time permits.
