Presumed Suspended Due To Covid-19 Closures
April 9, 2020
We're assuming that most, if not all, of the non-virtual Open Mikes listed on this site are on hold for now. Rather than encourage anyone to go out for no good reason, we're marking all Open Mikes on-hold until we hear otherwise from the listing owners.
All afternoon from 12pm to 4pm on the 2nd Saturday of each month, participate & celebrate free speech, & support your hyper-local community media center.
Play your songs, show your video, recite your poetry, do some stand-up comedy, or just speak your mind at the Free Speech Audiovisual Open Mic Series here at Belmont Media Center's Waverley Square Studio A. We encourage original material but cover songs and/or derivative material is fine too.
Performers should head to http://www.belmontmedia.org/news-events/audiovisual-open-mic-series-2019
for a complete listing of dates and links to the sign up forms for each individual date, including available time slots.
Our 3-camera HD TV studio will set up for small groups and singers/performers. We have a piano, plenty of mics, stage monitors with an in-house PA, and an LCD projector for videos or images.
The entire afternoon will be cablecast LIVE locally & on the Web. Performances will be archived on our YouTube page.
If you perform, you can also request a Bluray or DVD to be mailed to you for a small fee.
We'll also have an open reception with food & drinks from Belmont businesses and an info area about free speech & community media.

2. We cannot switch out full drum kits. If there are other bands with drum kits on the same date we will put you in touch with each other to see who wants to donate a kit for the duration.
3. If you want to screen a video or film or project images during your performance we recommend an H.264 1920 x 1080 file. We will create a Send us a link or upload to our Dropbox Folder > HERE (you don't need a Dropbox account)
4. When you sign up for a time slot, you MUST add in the COMMENTS section the instruments and equipment you will be using if you're a musician. Otherwise, please tel
