These are real musicians. Occasional poets appear. Great every so often event called the Palaver. Poets, spoken word, musicians, singers, etc. as long as they are 'upfull.'
Ransta (9/2008): Show up around 730 if you'd like to play for a few more people. If you play early its usually just performers sitting around.
J (9/2008): the talking stick has moved… 1411C lincoln blvd in Venice… on the corner of lincoln and california. A fabulous space with the same friendly ambience… getting better all the time… same schedule…
ellen (9/2008): New to the area, stopped by a couple times, very cozy little open mic, great community feel, warm welcome to new comers. I'd recommend this for sure
Anonymous (9/2008): ok open mic but you need to get there 2 hours early other wise good luck finding a place to park not to mention the fact that santa monica has neighborhood parking for people who live there only (permits) and they are qick at ticketing you if you park around the residential areas withou a permit.
