do you have to be a certain age to play here? I am 15 and do you accept rock music?

Peace Family,
How do we remain in touch with each other / speaking not just for self but also
identifying and addressing issues critical to both the individual and the
community? Join us this Friday, June 27th at 9PM at the Urban Juke Joint where
the theme of the evening will be "Conversation(s) in Collaboration(s)". The
"JUKE" is asking poets to walk outside current/spoken word production in an
effort to locate the unifying power inherent in poetry. Why? Because voices
spoken together add up to community and a community is better able to
articulate the hope/ the struggle/ the vision of its members. Each member acts
like a conductor carrying energy along for each other until the entire
community reaches a new level of dialogue that can affect (real) change. We are
encouraging folks to sign up for the mic as part of a collective or
collaboration of two or more. Because this will be the theme of the evening, a
limited number of spots will be available for "solo" artists. Sign up begins at
- 30PM.
Remember, at 9PM we will begin with an open discussion around a topic of
relevance. This month our topic will be “how do people of
color/anybody/survive the ghetto-ism put forth by the current state of Hip-Hop
and its inaccurate representations in mainstream media?
We look forward to seeing everyone on the 27th.
Peace and Blessings,
Ken/lloyd
