Doctor Oakroot (9/2006): I checked this one out just last week. I got there at at 7:30, having called at lunchtime that day to confirm the time. The gal "thought it's 8." I was worried. When I got there, there was nothing set up to look like a stage area, and no one obviously was putting the thing together. 8 came and went, and I was beginning to give up hope. At 8:30, the equipment came out of storage, and at 8:45 it finally started. Now that I know who's running it, I could sign up, but it's pretty loose, and you really have no idea when it's going to start or who's running the show if you've never been there before. A mix of music, poetry, and, oh, I don't know, performance art? ensued. Once it got going, it was good. The Epic is kept chilly; bring a sweater. I have to wonder what it does to a guitar's tuning. I guess I'll find out when my turn comes. :o)
