This open mike has an amazing soundsystem, and the host did a good job of tweaking it… I was very impressed. There was one guitarist who was overmodulated a bit, but the other performers had flawless sound. The crowd was rather small, only a handful of people there who were not performing (10-12 people total?), but that may have been because of the terrifying thunderstorm outside.
Nelson Pavlosky (8/2007): OPEN MIC. Alexandria-based singer/songwriter Mark Austin will be hosting the SAW-sponsored open mic on the last Saturday of each month (7:00-9:30pm). Great sound and a great listening room are guaranteed (a quality PA with 2 mics and 2 instrument channels). Sign-up begins at 6:45 for 15 minute slots.
